Objective: Master the fundamentals of operational requirements to implement smart scheduling. The Smart Scheduling series is the first step in the 5-phase implementation process. It offers the theory necessary to acquire a complete understanding of the scheduling process; identify and track production drums, buffers, and ropes; define milestones and budgets; as well as master the scheduling process.

Note: Smart Scheduling provides participants with the theoretical and operational foundations to properly set the system to work and is the first step of the five-phase implementation process only. In order to properly implement smart scheduling, we recommend you to get in touch with customersuccess@geniuserp.com to get a quote and have more information on the phases following the course series and get help from a Genius consultant.

Results: Understand, identify, and apply the determining production factors that must be calculated and defined based on the different levels of smart scheduling required by your company to improve your shop floor performance.

Session 1: Fundamentals and Prioritization

Duration: 2 hours

Type: Recorded

Objective:  Gain a comprehensive understanding of the smart scheduling basics and the overall process by reviewing the tools available, the requirements, and the scheduling variables based on the required operations.

Results: Identify and diagnose the scheduling requirements based on operations and products using the industry’s theory and best practices.

Designed for: Production planners, shop floor managers, purchasing managers, project managers, engineering directors.

Session 2: Smart Scheduling

Duration: 2 hours

Type: Recorded

Objective: Master smart scheduling basics and apply them to identify, calculate, and track production drums, buffers, and ropes using the industry’s best practices based on product types and operations performed.

Results: Design an optimal production sequence by performing a complete synthesis of the products based on their scheduling and production complexity.

Designed for: Production planners, shop floor managers, purchasing managers, project managers, and supervisors.

Session 3: Project Management

Duration: 2 hours

Type: Recorded

Objective: Define the critical operations, milestones, and budgets with their cost category to then used the Project Management module (including the processes and the configurations) and its production schedules to track work and manage changes and their impact on production.

Results: Collect relevant information of progress and resources invested in the production and apply a better management and decision-making process.

Designed for: Production planners, shop floor managers, purchasing managers, project managers, and supervisors.

Session 4: Manufacturing Execution System

Duration: 2 hours

Type: Recorded

Objective: Use and apply the best practices of Genius’s Manufacturing Execution System by mastering the basics of finite and infinite capacity as well as the entire scheduling process for required tasks.

Results: Optimize shop floor scheduling management (resources, machines, operations) based on the type of job scheduling used.

Designed for: Production planners, shop floor managers, purchasing managers, project managers, and supervisors.
